Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, was the night Nazis attacked thousands of Jewish people and destroyed their property. Kristallnacht is seen as symbolizing the final shattering of the Jewish existence in Europe and is commemorated on November 9-10th each year.

New Castle Holocaust and Human Rights Committee Mission Statement: The mission of our Committee is to educate residents of all ages and create community awareness about the Holocaust, other genocides and human rights violations. The Committee will work with other groups and organizations to educate the community to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust and other genocides and to apply these lessons to today’s world. The Committee will also work to promote the teaching of the Holocaust and Human Rights in our schools.
