Who?: Any New Castle resident may participate. There will be two age categories, 16 and under and 17 and over. *New York State requires a fishing license for anyone 16 and over. They can be purchased online.*
What?: A challenge to catch the biggest LARGEMOUTH BASS.
Where?: Participants can fish in any legal fishing area they choose. There are no restrictions on location of where participants catch their bass.
When?: July 5th- July 21st. All photos must be submitted by 11:59pm on July 21st. Photos must be emailed to dscott@mynewcastle.org
Rules: Only LARGEMOUTH BASS may be submitted. Each submission requires 2 photos. One photo with the person who caught the fish and another photo of the fish on the ground being measured from mouth to tail with a ruler or tape measure (like the photo below). Participants may fish with any bait they choose. Fish will be scored by length only. You are not required to weigh the fish. The longest LARGEMOUTH BASS in each age category will win.
Winners: The winner of each age group will win a trophy and a custom made shirt from New Castle Recreation. Good luck to all!
