Pursuant to New York State Executive Law § 24, ct seq., a State of Emergency is hereby declared in the Town of New Castle and shall remain in effect for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days, unless sooner rescinded or extended. This State of Emergency has been declared due to emergency conditions produced by the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, which imperil the public health, safety and welfare of the residents, businesses and workforce of the Town of New Castle.
As Chief Executive of the Town of New Castle, I, Ivy A. Pool, Town Supervisor, have exercised my authority under N.Y. Executive Law§ 24 to ensure that all necessary and available assistance from the Town of New Castle may be rendered in furtherance of the health, safety and well-being of everyone residing and working in our community. I hereby direct and authorize the New Castle Police Department to prohibit and control the gathering of persons on public streets and places as necessary to protect health and safety. This Order shall continue for a period of time not to exceed five (5) days, from Tuesday, March 17, 2020, effective at 8:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.
