Chappaqua Downtown Revitalization – January 8, 2019

Operations have ceased for the winter until April 1st.  The sidewalk work, plantings & final paving cannot be done in the winter.  There will, however, be work on Wed & Thurs of this week. As I previously mentioned, we will be making the sidewalk by Ibiza Kitchen, Family Britches & Petticoat Lane smaller to restore the 4 parking spots restored. The sidewalk may be reduced further in the spring. We will also be removing the bump-out on Senter Street.  Please keep in mind, the bump-outs are traffic calming measures.  The goal is to slow traffic and make our downtown more pedestrian friendly.   However, many felt it was best to remove the Senter Street bump-out – so we did.  Our traffic expert has been retained to review the turning radius at the intersections of Greeley & King, as well as the intersection of King & Senter Street. Our traffic consultant will also study and provide an opinion regarding making lower King into a two-way street. Please remember to check the Town of New Castle website for all updates. If you would like to receive daily updates, please email me.
