Zoning Division

Due to COVID-19 our office staff has been reduced on a daily basis.  The Office still remains operational however the best way to reach us is to email building@mynewcastle.org


The Zoning Division is within the Building Division, as the Town Building Inspector serves as the code enforcement officer. If you are looking for relief from a provision within the Town Code, you must make an appeal to the New Castle Zoning Board of Appeals.

Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews specific actions taken by town officials, the building inspector or code enforcement officer, and residents and may grant variances - such as building setbacks and lot size, use variances, and special use permits according to board jurisdiction. An appeal may also be made to the Zoning Board for an interpretation of specific code language based on a decision of a town official.

All applicants are required to meet with the Building Inspector, Thomas DePole III for a preliminary review of their completed application, in order to be placed on the agenda.
