Use the "Theft From a Vehicle" type when...
Property has been stolen from your vehicle while the vehicle was parked in New Castle. If the car was damaged during the theft you should still use this report type.

For example...
Your GPS was stolen from your car while it was parked unlocked in your driveway
One of your car windows was smashed and your ipod was stolen from inside the vehicle

Don't use PolicE-Report if ...

• The incident just occurred and there is a chance the responsible persons are nearby
• You or a witness have information about a suspect (a name, license plate number or even just a physical description). When there are suspects involved, please contact the police desk at 238-4422 to report the incident by phone.

When filing the report...

Description Field: Include the last time you saw the property and when you discovered it had been stolen.
Property Field: Describe each item stolen with an approximate value. Describe any property that was damaged.

File a Property Damage Report Online

Use the "Property Damage" type when...
property, other than a motor vehicle has been damaged and the value is not greater than $1,000.

For example...      Your mailbox was damaged
                             Someone painted graffitti on your garage

Don’t use Online reporting if …

• Your home, business or other building (garage, shed, etc) has been illegally entered and property taken or if it appears that damaged was caused by a person trying to enter a building.
• You are reporting graffitti that is threatening or is evidence of a hate crime.

When filing a lost property report...

Description field: Provide details about when you last saw the property undamaged and when you discovered the damage.
Property Field:  Describe the property that was damaged and give approximate value if known. If available attach a photograph to the online report.

Use the "Traffic Concern" type when...
you have a traffic safety concern that involves a roadway in the Town of New Castle, NY.

For example...
Cars are speeding in your neighborhood
You believe a stop sign is needed at an intersection

Don’t use E-Report if …

You are reporting a safety concern that is happening right now, such as a car driving recklessly in your neighborhood.  Call or 238-4422 or 9-1-1 to have an officer dispatched to the area.

When filing a traffic concern report...

Description Field:   Provide as much detail as possible about the exact location that you are concerned about. If applicable provide the times of day that the problem is occuring.

Owners Deposition	Used to list property that has been reported stolen or criminally damaged.
Alarm Registration	Register or renew an alarm permit
Request for Vacant House Check	Request to have the New Castle Police check on your home while you are away.
Request for Police Report	Request a copy of a police report in which you are named in the report.
Request for Records	If you are requesting police records that you are not personally named in you need to file a F.O.I.L. request with the Town Clerk.
Letter of Good Conduct	The "Letter of Good Conduct” is a name check through the New Castle Police Department. The application can not be submitted by a third party. Personal identification and address verification must be shown at the time the application is submitted.
Kind Find	New Castle PD participates in Kind Find.  The Kind Find registration form includes sections for guardians to address the individual’s diagnosis, communication skills, fears, and how to approach them.
Business Emergency Contact    or use the Online Form	The information is used in the event of an after hours emergency. Having this information will minimize the time it takes our department notify a business owner of a problem concerning their business property.
