StoryWalk - Halloween Edition!
The 2014 Halloween StoryWalk will again be set-up at Burden Preserve off Sheather Road in Mt. Kisco.  This year's story is "The Runaway Pumpkin" by Kevin Lewis with illustrations by S.D. Schindler.  The StoryWalk is scheduled to be up from Friday, October 17th through Friday, November 14th.  The StoryWalk is free and open to everyone!  Click here for flyer and further details.

Girls Volleyball Clinics...registration open!
The Girls Volleyball Clinics instructed by Horace Greeley Varsity Volleyball Coach, Daniela Denis, are starting Wednesday, November 12th and registration is open!  Two clinics are being offerred, one for 7th & 8th graders and one for 9th - 12th graders.  The clinics will be held in the back gym at Bell Middle School.  Here are the details: 
  • 7th & 8th Grade Girls
    • November 12 - January 14 (no session on Dec. 24 & 31)
    • Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30pm
    • Fee - $160.00
    • Location - Bell Middle School Back Gym
    • Checks payable to: Town of New Castle
  • 9th - 12th Grade Girls
    • November 12 - January 14 (no session on Dec. 24 & 31)
    • Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:00pm
    • Fee - $200.00
    • Location - Bell Middle School Back Gym
    • Checks payable to: Town of New Castle
These clinics are dedicated to the development and improvement of all levels of volleyball players.  Each session will include position specialization, demostrations and drills in all skill phases of the game.

Registrations are being accepted at the Recreation Office in Town Hall.  Any questions can be directed to Recreation Supervisor, Aaron Podhurst at 238-7290.


Online registration for Recreation Youth Basketball Program
The Recreation & Parks Department is happy to introduce online registration for the Recreation Department's 2014-2015 Youth Basketball Program.  At this time ONLY the Youth Basketball program registration is available online.  Registration for Recreation Youth Basketball is currently open with a registration deadline of Friday, November 21st.

In the upcoming weeks, we will make more programs available for online registration with the goal to have online registration fullyin place for the 2015 Winter Program season.  With the implementation of online registration you can register from the comfort of your own home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

You may register in person, by mail or leave your registration in the drop box located just outside the Recreation & Parks Department office, if after business hours. Please be familiar with our registration procedures and policies found in our program brochure to avoid any issues at the time of registration.

Field & Program Alerts
For the most up-to-date information regarding program cancellations and field closings, we offer the following notification options:

  • Call the Recreation Hotline: (914) 238 - 2540...message is updated by 3:00pm on weekdays and by 7:00am on weekends (or earlier when neccessary).
  • Register to receive field updates and program alerts via e-mail and/or text messages through the Town's CodeRED Community Notification System.  To subscribe to the alerts follow the instructions below.  Please note: For new CodeRED users, this process will enroll you in the Town's emergency notification system, and will also add you to the Recreation & Parks Department field and program alerts notification list.

    New CodeRED Users:  Click here to enroll in the CodeRED Community Notification System. Enter the required information and then click "Verify Information".  You will then be asked, "Would you like to create a managed account?"  Answer "YES", this will then give you the option to check the "Recreation & Parks Field and Program Alerts" box under the "Community Notifications" section.  Check that box...that's it, you are signed up to receive field updates and program alerts.

    Existing CodeRED Users:  If you are already enrolled in the CodeRED system, access your account by entering your username and password, confirm you have, or update to, a "Managed Account", then simply check the "Recreation & Parks Field and Program Alerts" box under "Community Notifications".
